Providers are the COM objects that provide the functional interface to the external components that enable the provisioning of Web hosting and other Web-based services. Microsoft Provisioning System includes several core providers that you can use to support specific provisioning requirements. Microsoft Provisioning Framework (MPF) hosts the XML-based namespaces that invoke the functionality of providers. You can use these namespaces and their providers, as well as the additional providers and namespaces included with the other components of Microsoft Provisioning System to implement provisioning support for Active Directory, Exchange 2000 Server, Internet Information Services (IIS) version 5.0, FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions, and SharePoint Team Services.
