Notification groups include operators that you can schedule to
receive e-mail, page, or command notifications. Operators can
belong to more than one notification group.
To create a notification group and include
operators:
Expand Microsoft Operations Manager (default) in the
left pane.
Expand Rules in the left pane.
Expand Notification Groups in the left pane.
Click Action on the menu bar.
Click Create Notification Group on the Action
menu.
Type an appropriate name for the group.
If you want to add an existing operator to the group, complete
the following steps:
Select the operator name from the Available operators
list.
Click the bottom arrow to move the name to the Group
operators list.
If you want to create a new operator and add the operator to
the group, complete the following steps:
Click New Operator.
Type a name or description of the operator.
Follow the instructions until you have finished creating an
operator. For more information about the fields on a window, click
Help.
Click the bottom arrow to move the name to the Group
operators list.
If you want to modify an operator's properties, complete the
following steps:
Select the operator name. The operator can be in the
Available operators list or the Group operators
list.
Click Properties.
Modify the operator properties as needed. For more information
about the fields on a window, click Help.
Repeat step 7 or step 8 to add more operators to
the notification group.
Click Finish on the Notification Group Properties
window.
