The Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 Management Pack for System Center Operations Manager monitors the Windows Application log on computers running Exchange 2010 and generates this alert when the events specified in the following Details table are logged.

The Microsoft Exchange Information Store service (MSExchangeIS) isn't running.


This error alert occurs if the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service (MSExchangeIS) is not running.

User Action

To resolve this error alert, start the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service. To do this, follow these steps:

Start the Microsoft Exchange Forms- Information Store service
  1. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc, and then click OK.

  2. In the Services window, locate the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service in the details pane.

  3. Right-click the service, and then click Start.

Here are some recommended next steps to learn more about this alert:

  • Review the Application log and the System log on the servers that are running Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 for related events. For example, events that occur immediately before and after this event may provide more information about the cause of this error.

  • Make sure that the other required Exchange 2010 services are running. Review the CAS Active Alerts view to determine whether any alerts that are related to stopped services are logged on the CAS server.
