For Citrix XenServer virtual machines, you can create virtual hard disks (VHD files). For XenServer hypervisors, you can create storage repositories. Before adding a virtual disk to a virtual machine running on a XenServer, install xs-tools on that virtual machine.
To create a XenServer storage repository:
In the left pane of the ESI window, select Hypervisors.
Click Storage Repositories from the center pane, and then select a XenServer hypervisor.
Or
From the left pane, select a XenServer hypervisor.
From the Actions pane, click Create Storage Repository.
The Create Storage Repository wizard appears.
Select a storage system for the repository, and then click Next.
In the Storage Pool page, select a storage pool, and then click Next.
In the New LUN page, set the following values for the new LUN, and then click Next.

Note: Each LUN is assigned an active service node. Each service node can have multiple ports. If the port is iSCSI, XenServer creates a software iSCSI storage repository. FC is not supported for XenServer.

In the Review Input Parameters page, review the settings, and then click Next to confirm them.
In the Progress page, click Next.
Note: Click More Information for more progress details. If a problem occurs while you are creating a storage repository, an error message appears along with options to resume or roll back the process.
