The Virtual Machine Servicing Tool stores its general configuration information in an XML file on the Virtual Machine Manager (VMM) server, in the Config folder located in the %ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Offline Virtual Machine Servicing Tool folder.

This file includes information about the configured VMM server, the Configuration Manager or WSUS server, the configured maintenance hosts, and the servicing job time-outs.

This folder also contains the XML files that define each type of Virtual Machine Servicing Tool group.
