Use the Specify Export Path page in the System Center Updates Publisher Export Wizard to configure the path for where the software updates catalog is exported. Updates Publisher creates the catalog that contains the software update definitions at the location in the specified path. The catalog is created as a cabinet (CAB) file and an associated Extensible Markup Language (XML) file is created that contains the export date and the hash value that provides version information when the catalog is imported into other publishing tools. The default location for the exported catalog is %USERPROFILE%\My Documents\My Catalogs\MyUpdatesCatalog.cab.

| When you distribute the catalog file, always copy UpdatesCatalog.xml to the same location as UpdatesCatalog.cab. Otherwise, Updates Publisher cannot detect whether it has retrieved the most recent version of the catalog. |
