Use the Discover and Add External Catalogs dialog box in System Center Updates Publisher to retrieve the list of all partner catalogs that have been registered with Microsoft and to add the catalogs to the import list. The dialog box is opened from the Import tab in the Settings dialog box by clicking Find.

This dialog box contains the following elements:

External Catalog(s)

Displays a list of vendor software updates catalogs that have been registered with Microsoft and not already imported to Updates Publisher. This list is retrieved from an external Web site and therefore requires an Internet connection.
Note
Updates Publisher 4.5 provides a proxy server credentials dialog box when the connection fails for the current user. When this dialog box displays, enter the proxy server name, port, and the user name and password for an account that has appropriate proxy server permissions.
Add >

Adds the highlighted software updates catalog from the External Catalogs section to the Chosen catalog(s) section.
Add All

Adds all software updates catalogs from the External Catalogs section to the Chosen catalog(s) section.
< Remove

Removes the highlighted software updates catalog from the Chosen catalog(s) section to the External Catalogs section.
Remove All

Removes all software updates catalogs from the Chosen catalog(s) section to the External Catalogs section.
Chosen catalog(s)

Displays a list of the vendor software updates catalogs that have been added from the External Catalog section. The catalogs in the Chosen catalog(s) section will be added to the Import List on the Import List tab in the Settings dialog box.
Catalog Details

Displays the following information about the highlighted catalog:
  • URL: The import path for the catalog.

  • Support: The path where support information is available for the catalog.

  • Description: The description for the catalog.

OK

Saves the changes and returns to the Settings dialog box.
Cancel

Exits the dialog box without saving any changes and returns to the Settings dialog box.
