The System Center Updates Publisher start page appears in the center area of the publishing tool console when the System Center Updates Publisher console tree node is selected. The start page provides links to help topics and displays catalogs that are in the import list that have been modified since they were last imported.
The Updates Publisher start page contains the following elements:
- Links and Resources
- Displays the following sections with links to help topics and
online resources:
- How Do I: Links to Updates Publisher
help topics that provide information about typical Updates
Publisher actions.
- Online Resources: Links to external
Web sites that provide information about Updates Publisher and
related technologies.
- How Do I: Links to Updates Publisher
help topics that provide information about typical Updates
Publisher actions.
- Catalog Updates
- Displays the catalogs in the import list that have been
modified since they were last imported. The import list is managed
from the Import List tab of the Settings dialog box.
When the Automatically check for updates to my catalogs on
startup setting is enabled on this tab, newer versions of the
catalogs in the import list are automatically checked for newer
versions when Updates Publisher opens. The Catalog Updates pane
provides the following actions:
- Import: When at least one catalog is
selected, the Import Software Updates Catalog Wizard opens. Click
Next to import the updated catalogs. Click Cancel to
stop the import process.
- Select All: Highlights all catalogs in
the list so they can be imported.
- Refresh: Queries for and retrieves the
software updates catalogs on the import list that have been
modified by the vendor since they were last imported.
- Name: Specifies the name assigned by
the creator of the catalog.
- Description: Specifies the description
assigned by the creator of the catalog.
- Last Imported: Specifies the date that
the catalog was last imported into Updates Publisher.
- Published: Specifies the date that the
catalog was last published by the creator. If Updates Publisher is
unable to determine the last publishing date, this column displays
Unknown.
- Path: Specifies the location of the
catalog. The catalog can be located on the Internet, on a shared
folder, or on the local drive.
- Import: When at least one catalog is
selected, the Import Software Updates Catalog Wizard opens. Click
Next to import the updated catalogs. Click Cancel to
stop the import process.
