Controlling Real-time Tracing

Start Tracing

Choose 'Tools | Start Tracing' from the menu, or click the 'Start Tracing' button on the toolbar.  When TraceView starts tracing, it connects to the servers in TraceView's connection list.  To see how to modify the list of MPF servers in TraceView's list of connections, see Adding/Removing Connections.

Pause Tracing

Choose 'Tools | Pause Tracing' from the menu, or click the 'Pause Tracing' button on the toolbar.  When TraceView pauses tracing, it ignores trace messages sent from connected servers in TraceView's connection list.  To continue tracing after you've paused tracing, choose 'Tools | Start Tracing' from the menu, or click the 'Start Tracing' button on the toolbar. 

Stop Tracing

Choose 'Tools | Stop Tracing' from the menu, or click the 'Stop Tracing' button on the toolbar.  When TraceView stops tracing, it disconnects from the servers to which TraceView connected when tracing first started.
