Client computers and site systems that run Windows Firewall might prevent Configuration Manager 2007 R2 client status reporting from working correctly. You must configure clients in your organization with firewall settings that allow communications with client status reporting.
Configure the following firewall settings to allow client status reporting to successfully communicate with site systems and client computers in your organization.

Allow incoming echo requests |
If you are using client ping, clients in the site must be configured to allow incoming echo requests. |
