Use the Options tab of the Configuration Manager 2007 Client Status Reporting dialog box to specify values to be used to calculate the status of the client and to specify how long to retain client data.
This tab contains the following elements:
- Heartbeat discovery, within the following number of days
- Specifies the client status reporting period in days during which a client computer must have forwarded a heartbeat discovery record to the Configuration Manager 2007 site database. If a discovery record is received during this period, the client computer is diagnosed as active.
- Software inventory, within the following number of days
- Specifies the client status reporting period in days during which a client computer must have forwarded software inventory to the Configuration Manager 2007 site server. If software inventory has been sent during this period, the client computer is diagnosed as active.
- Hardware inventory, within the following number of days
- Specifies the client status reporting period in days during which a client computer must have forwarded hardware inventory to the Configuration Manager 2007 site server. If hardware inventory has been sent during this period, the client computer is diagnosed as active.
- Status messages, within the following number of days
- Specifies the client status reporting period in days during which a client computer must have forwarded status messages to the Configuration Manager 2007 site server. If status messages have been sent during this period, the client computer is diagnosed as active.
- Policy requests, within the following number of days
- Specifies the client status reporting period in days during
which a client computer must have requested policy from the
Configuration Manager 2007 site server. If policy is requested
during this period, the client computer is diagnosed as
active.
Note To use this option, you must first configure client pulse.
- Keep client activity data for the following number of days
- Specifies the number of days that client activity data should be stored in the Configuration Manager 2007 site database before it is deleted.
- Update Configuration Manager 2007 site database with inactive client information
- Specifies that client status reporting should update records in the Configuration Manager 2007 database each time that client pulse or client ping runs. If a client computer is discovered to be inactive, the active value for the client is set to 0 in the Configuration Manager 2007 database.
- OK
- Saves the changes and exits the dialog box.
- Cancel
- Exits the dialog box without saving any changes.
- Apply
- Saves the changes and remains in the dialog box.
- Help
- Opens the help topic for this tab of the dialog box.
