You can add an operating system image to use with your operating system deployments. The operating system WIM files you import can be used as part of an operating system deployment task sequence.

Use the following procedure to add an operating system image.

Procedure

To add an operating system image

  1. In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to System Center Configuration Manager / Site Database / Computer Management / Operating System Deployment / Operating System Images.

  2. To add an operating system image, right-click the Operating System Images node, and then click Add Operating System Image to open the Add Operating System Image Wizard.

  3. On the Data Source page, type the network path in (UNC) format to the operating system image WIM file. To browse for a WIM file, click Browse button, and then locate the operating system image you want to add.

  4. On the General page, specify the Name, Version, and an optional Comment. This information is useful when you have multiple operating system images.

  5. Click Next to view the summary of the operating system that is being created.

  6. Click Next to complete the wizard. The new operating system image is created and displays in the Results pane when you select the Operating System Images node.
