Configuration items in Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 contain settings to be applied to the mobile device. These configuration items can be included in configuration packages and then advertised to mobile devices. When the built-in program in the configuration package is run, the configuration item settings are applied to the mobile device. Procedure
To create a configuration item for mobile devices

In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to System Center Configuration Manager / Site Database / Computer Management / Mobile Device Management.

Right-click Configuration Items and select New Configuration Item. The New Configuration Item Wizard opens.
