Configuration baselines in Configuration Manager 2007 contain configuration items with associated configuration baseline rules. You can add and remove configuration items from configuration baselines, but you cannot directly edit configuration items from a configuration baseline. To do so, you must modify the configuration item from the Configuration Items node.

To edit a configuration item in a configuration baseline

  1. In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to System Center Configuration Manager / Site Download / Computer Management / Desired Configuration Management / Configuration Items.

  2. Right-click the configuration item you want to edit, and click Properties.

    Note
If you cannot immediately see the configuration item you want to edit, you can use the columns to help you locate it by sorting on one of its properties, such as name or category.
  3. Make the change to the configuration item, and click OK.

    Note
For more information about the options in the Configuration Item Properties dialog box, see Configuration Item Properties.
