Use the Applicability tab of the Configuration Manager 2007 configuration item properties to specify the Windows platforms that are applicable to the application configuration item or the general configuration item. For example, if you specify only All x86 Windows XP, then a computer running Windows Vista would not include this configuration item in its compliance evaluation.

This tab contains the following elements:

All Windows platforms

Specifies that this application configuration item is applicable to all Windows platforms and will therefore be evaluated for compliance by all targeted client computers.
Specified Windows platforms

Specifies that this configuration item is applicable to only the selected Windows platforms and therefore client computers running these Windows platforms only will evaluate this configuration item for compliance.
