Asset Intelligence synchronization points can be used to connect to and synchronize with System Center Online, to download updated Asset Intelligence catalog information, and to upload custom software title information.

Important
All software titles uploaded to System Center Online for categorization will be treated as public information by Microsoft. Therefore, you should ensure that your custom software titles do not contain confidential or proprietary information.

If proxy server settings are required for the Asset Intelligence synchronization point to connect and synchronize with System Center Online, these settings can be entered on the Asset Intelligence synchronization point Proxy Server tab.

The Asset Intelligence synchronization point Proxy Server tab contains the following elements.

Use a proxy server when synchronizing

Select this option if proxy server settings are required to allow the Asset Intelligence synchronization point to synchronize with System Center Online.
Server Name

Used to specify the proxy server name that is required to allow synchronization with System Center Online.
Port

Specifies the TCP port to be used to connect to System Center Online. The default setting is to use port 80.
Use credentials to connect to the proxy server

Used to enable proxy server logon account settings to connect to the proxy server if the proxy server logon credentials that must be used are different than the local system account of the Asset Intelligence synchronization point computer.
Proxy server account

Used to specify a proxy server account, in <domain>\<username> format, to use to connect to the proxy server if the logon credentials to be used are other than the local system account of the Asset Intelligence synchronization point.
Set…

Used to open the Windows User Account selection dialog to specify a proxy server account.
OK

Saves the changes and exits the dialog box.
Cancel

Exits the dialog box without saving any changes.
Apply

Saves the changes and remains in the dialog box.
Help

Opens the help topic for this dialog box.
