Modifying an advertisement that you've already created is sometimes necessary to meet changing circumstances. This is done through the properties dialog box of the specific advertisement.

It is important to note that if an advertisement has already run from a schedule and you modify the advertisement schedule to run immediately after an event, that advertisement will not run. To specify a start time for an advertisement that has already run from a schedule, you should schedule a specific time to run in the future.

Note
To modify an advertisement, you must have Modify permission for the Package security object type, Advertise permission for the collection, and Read permission for the package. For more information about security permissions, see Classes and Instances for Object Security in Configuration Manager.

To modify an advertisement

  1. In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to System Center Configuration Manager / Site Database / Computer Management / Software Distribution / Advertisements.

  2. In the results pane, right-click the advertisement you want to modify and then click Properties.

  3. In the Advertisement Property dialog box, update the settings as needed.

For additional information about this dialog box, see Advertisement Name Properties.
