Configuration baselines in Configuration Manager 2007 can be layered for greater administrative control such that one configuration baseline contains another configuration baseline. If you no longer require a configuration baseline to be included in another configuration baseline, remove it from the configuration baseline rules.

Note
Removing another configuration baseline from a configuration baseline will not delete the configuration baseline that you have removed.

To remove another configuration baseline from a configuration baseline

  1. In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to System Center Configuration Manager / Site Database / Computer Management / Desired Configuration Management / Configuration Baselines.

  2. Right-click the configuration baseline you want to modify so that it no longer contains another configuration baseline, and click Properties.

  3. In the Rules tab, navigate to the rule These configuration baselines must also be validated and select the configuration baseline you want to remove.

  4. Click Delete, and click OK.
