Site Code

When the Client value displays No, and Assigned displays Yes, the Site Code displays the site code of a primary or secondary site. Prior to installing the Configuration Manager client, the site code identifies where the resource is located, as defined by the site boundaries.

When the Client value displays Yes, and Assigned displays Yes, the Site Code displays the primary site code for the site that the client has joined.

Note
Configuration Manager clients are always assigned to a primary site, even when the client location is defined as a boundary at a secondary site.

Approved

If the Configuration Manager 2007 site is in mixed mode, the client state displays the approval status of clients.

Assigned

Indicates whether a discovered resource falls within the boundaries of a Configuration Manager 2007 site:

• If the Client value displays No, the Assigned value displays whether the discovered resource falls within the boundaries of the current site. In this scenario, if a computer resource is not assigned to the current site, you cannot use auto-site assignment to assign the computer to the current site.
  
  
• If the Client value displays Yes, the Assigned value displays whether the client has joined a site. If a Configuration Manager client is not assigned, it cannot be managed.

Blocked

Indicates whether the client computer has been blocked from communicating with the Configuration Manager 2007 site.

Client

When the Client value displays Yes, the site has processed a Heartbeat Discovery data record from the client. This can be used to help confirm that the client computer has a Configuration Manager 2007 client installed.

Obsolete

Indicates whether this client record is obsolete.

A record that is marked obsolete typically was superseded by a newer record for the same client. The newer record becomes the client's current record, and the older record becomes obsolete.

Active

If a client computer is marked as obsolete, this state is set to No.

Decommissioned

When a Configuration Manager 2007 client is removed from a child site, its record is not automatically deleted from the parent site. However, a new data discovery record (DDR) is sent to the parent site and the client becomes marked as decommissioned. You can then use Configuration Manager 2007 queries or collections to identify decommissioned client computers.

By default, this state is not shown in the Configuration Manager console. To view this column, click View, click Add/Remove columns, add Decommissioned from the Available columns, and then click OK.
