When the software inventory agent begins an inventory cycle on a client, it first determines whether enough resources are available on the client for it to complete the inventory successfully. If resources are limited, the agent might skip file collection or not run at all. If the agent does not run, it will attempt to run within 24 hours from the current time.
The client must have the following minimum resources for the software inventory agent to successfully complete an inventory cycle:
- 3 MB of free virtual memory
- 500 KB of free disk space
- Hard disk storage capacity of 210 percent of
all the files that are to be collected. (The agent makes a copy of
each file it collects.)
