Keyboard and Mouse Shortcuts for Configuration Manager 2007

The following sections describe keyboard and mouse shortcuts in both Configuration Manager 2007 and the Microsoft Management Console (MMC).

Configuration Manager Console Keyboard Shortcuts

The following table shows the keyboard shortcuts for the Configuration Manager console.

Action	Result
Application key	The Application key on your keyboard displays action menus in property pages.
F3	Displays or hides the search panel in the results pane, which contains the Look for, in, and Find Now and Clear buttons.
CTRL+SHIFT +ARROW key or ALT+V or ALT+U	In the Sender Address Properties: Schedule Tab, press CTRL+SHIFT and press the LEFT or RIGHT ARROW keys to select blocks of time, and then press the TAB key to move to the control to set Availability. You can also press ALT+V to set the Availability drop-down menu, or press ALT+U to select the check box control for Unavailable to substitute for inoperative addresses.
CTRL+SHIFT +ARROW key or ALT+M	In the Sender Address Properties: Rate Limits Tab, press CTRL+SHIFT and press the LEFT or RIGHT ARROW keys to select blocks of time, and then press the TAB key to move to the control for Time period. Press ALT+M, and then press the UP or DOWN ARROW keys to select the control Limit (% of connection bandwidth).

Configuration Manager 2007 Help Keyboard Shortcuts

The following table lists access keys for the Configuration Manager 2007 Help Viewer.

ALT+O	Displays or hides the Options menu.
ALT+O+T	Displays or hides the Navigation pane.
ALT+O+B	Goes to the previous topic.
ALT+O+F	Goes to the next topic.

MMC Navigation Keyboard Shortcuts

Working with the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) tree is very similar to working with folders in Windows Explorer. You navigate from item to item, expanding and collapsing branches as needed by using the + and - keys on the keyboard or by clicking and double-clicking. The following table lists the actions you can use to navigate in and between console windows.

Action	Result
TAB or F6	Moves forward between panes in the active console window.
SHIFT+TAB or SHIFT+F6	Moves backward between panes.
NUM +	Expands the selected item.
NUM -	Collapses the selected item.
NUM *	Expands the entire console tree below the root item in the active console window.
UP ARROW	Moves the focus up one item in a pane.
DOWN ARROW	Moves the focus down one item in a pane.
PAGE UP	Moves the focus to the top item visible in a pane.
PAGE DOWN	Moves the focus to the bottom item visible in a pane.
HOME	Moves the focus to the root of the console tree.
END	Moves the focus to the last item in the console tree.
RIGHT ARROW	Expands the selected item.
LEFT ARROW	Collapses the selected item. If the selected item does not contain exposed items, LEFT ARROW moves the focus to the top of the current branch of the console tree.

MMC Navigation Mouse Shortcuts

The following table lists the mouse actions that you can use to navigate the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) tree.

Action	Results
Click	Selects an item.
Double-click	Displays or hides items contained by the selected item. Displays properties for or opens an item.
Right-click	Displays the Action shortcut menu for the selected item.

MMC Main Window Keyboard Shortcuts

The following table lists keyboard shortcuts for the commands that you can use to perform tasks for a Microsoft Management Console (MMC) or for the main window of a console.

CTRL+O	Opens a saved console.
CTRL+N	Opens a new console.
CTRL+S	Saves the open console.
CTRL+M	Adds or removes a snap-in.
CTRL+W	Opens a new window.
F5	Refreshes the selected node.
ALT+SPACEBAR	Displays the MMC menu.
ALT+F4	Closes the active console.

MMC Console Window Keyboard Shortcuts

The following table lists keyboard shortcuts for the commands that you can use in the active console window of a Microsoft Management Console (MMC) or on the contents of a console window.

CTRL+P	Prints the current page or active pane.
ALT+-	Displays the window menu for the active console window.
SHIFT+F10 or ALT+A	Displays the Action shortcut menu for the selected item.
ALT+V	Displays the View menu for the active console window.
F1	Opens the Help topic (if any) for the selected item.
F5	Refreshes the content of all console windows.
CTRL+F10	Maximizes the active console window.
CTRL+F5	Restores the active console window.
ENTER	Opens or displays the Properties dialog box for the selected item.
