Configuration Manager Console Keyboard Shortcuts

The following table shows the keyboard shortcuts for the Configuration Manager console.

Application key

The Application key on your keyboard displays action menus in property pages.

F3

Displays or hides the search panel in the results pane, which contains the Look for, in, and Find Now and Clear buttons.

CTRL+SHIFT +ARROW key or ALT+V or ALT+U

In the Sender Address Properties: Schedule Tab, press CTRL+SHIFT and press the LEFT or RIGHT ARROW keys to select blocks of time, and then press the TAB key to move to the control to set Availability. You can also press ALT+V to set the Availability drop-down menu, or press ALT+U to select the check box control for Unavailable to substitute for inoperative addresses.

CTRL+SHIFT +ARROW key or ALT+M

In the Sender Address Properties: Rate Limits Tab, press CTRL+SHIFT and press the LEFT or RIGHT ARROW keys to select blocks of time, and then press the TAB key to move to the control for Time period. Press ALT+M, and then press the UP or DOWN ARROW keys to select the control Limit (% of connection bandwidth).

MMC Navigation Keyboard Shortcuts

Working with the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) tree is very similar to working with folders in Windows Explorer. You navigate from item to item, expanding and collapsing branches as needed by using the + and - keys on the keyboard or by clicking and double-clicking. The following table lists the actions you can use to navigate in and between console windows.

Moves forward between panes in the active console window.

SHIFT+TAB or SHIFT+F6

Moves backward between panes.

NUM +

Expands the selected item.

NUM -

Collapses the selected item.

NUM *

Expands the entire console tree below the root item in the active console window.

UP ARROW

Moves the focus up one item in a pane.

DOWN ARROW

Moves the focus down one item in a pane.

PAGE UP

Moves the focus to the top item visible in a pane.

PAGE DOWN

Moves the focus to the bottom item visible in a pane.

HOME

Moves the focus to the root of the console tree.

END

Moves the focus to the last item in the console tree.

RIGHT ARROW

Expands the selected item.

LEFT ARROW

Collapses the selected item. If the selected item does not contain exposed items, LEFT ARROW moves the focus to the top of the current branch of the console tree.

MMC Navigation Mouse Shortcuts

The following table lists the mouse actions that you can use to navigate the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) tree.
