This feature enables Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 administrators to send a list of devices identified by Configuration Manager 2007 to Microsoft to obtain the device driver status for the Windows 7, Windows Vista, or Windows XP operating system.

If the Application Compatibility Toolkit Connector (ACT Connector) is installed, the Configuration Manager 2007 administrator can choose to run Driver Status Synchronization in the Configuration Manager 2007 console. This selection initiates a one-time synchronization such that a list of devices found in the environment will be sent to Microsoft and status of the drivers for the devices will be returned to Configuration Manager 2007. The status indicates if there is a device driver available that is compatible with Windows 7, Windows Vista, or Windows XP.
