Use the Polling Schedule tab of the Configuration Manager 2007 Active Directory System Group Discovery Properties dialog box to specify when the selected Active Directory containers are polled to determine whether new system groups have been added.

The Polling Schedule tab contains the following elements:

Polling Schedule

Displays the scheduled discovery poll. By default, polling occurs once every 24 hours. To customize a discovery schedule, click the Schedule button.
Important
Applies only to Configuration Manager 2007 R3. If you configure Configuration Manager 2007 R3 Delta Discovery, do not configure the full discovery polling schedule to be less than the default value of once every 24 hours.
Note
Configuration Manager polls the closest Active Directory resource to discover system groups in the containers specified on the General tab. Because this process can cause significant network traffic, you should plan accordingly.
Enable delta discovery

Note
Applies only to Configuration Manager 2007 R3.
Specifies that you want to use Configuration Manager 2007 R3 Delta Discovery which lets you improve the performance of resource discovery by periodically scanning Active Directory for only new or changed resources.
Delta discovery interval (minutes)

Note
Applies only to Configuration Manager 2007 R3.
Specifies the interval in minutes at which Delta Discovery runs. The default value is every 5 minutes.
Run discovery as soon as possible

Specifies that this Active Directory discovery poll should start as soon as possible.
Note
This option is only available after Active Directory containers have been specified on the General tab. This check box is cleared after the discovery request has been sent to the site server.
