The following terms are used when describing concepts and actions related to the Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 Application Compatibility Toolkit Connector (ACT Connector).

Application Compatibility Toolkit

The Microsoft Application Compatibility Toolkit (ACT) is a lifecycle management tool that assists in identifying and managing your overall application portfolio, reducing the cost and time involved in resolving application compatibility issues, and helping you quickly deploy Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP. For more information about the Microsoft Application Compatibility Toolkit, see Application Compatibility (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=91277).

Log Processing Service

The ACT Log Processing Service transfers the Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP compatibility information collected by the ACT data collection package.

Data Collection Package (DCP)

The ACT data collection package (DCP) is a package that must be installed on a Configuration Manager 2007 client computer to collect data that ACT uses to assess an application's compatibility with Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP. The DCP package remains on the destination computer for the configured amount of time specified when creating the DCP, and it then uninstalls itself.
