The Wake On LAN tab in the site properties allows you to enable or disable Wake On LAN for the Configuration Manager 2007 site for scheduled activities such as a software update deployment with a deadline, and a mandatory advertisement. You can also configure whether wake-up packets are sent using subnet-directed broadcast or unicast transmissions.

If you have Configuration Manager 2007 SP1 or later and you are using out of band management, you can additionally enable or disable power on commands that are sent from the out of band service point. To help you choose between using wake-up packets and power on commands, see Choose Between Power On Commands with Out of Band Management and Wake-Up Packets for Wake On LAN.

For more information about Wake On LAN in Configuration Manager 2007, see Overview of Wake On LAN.

For more information about out of band management in Configuration Manager, see Out of Band Management in Configuration Manager 2007 SP1 and Later.

Note
This tab is not enabled for secondary site servers. Wake-up packets are sent from the primary site server only, and the out of band service point cannot be installed in a secondary site.
