Use this Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 dialog box to specify a file that you add to the list of How to View Files Collected From Clients from clients during software inventory.
Name
Specify a complete file name. By default, no files or file types are listed. You can also specify a partial file name, and use the '?' and '*' wildcard characters (except *.*), as follows:
- Use '?' to replace any one character.
- Use '*' to replace zero or more
characters.

Be careful when using wildcard characters in a file name. Collected files, especially large ones, require a lot of disk space to process on clients, take longer to process, and use up disk space on the site server. Collecting multiple files amplifies these issues. You can specify a long file name (the maximum name length is 255 characters). However, file names are not case-sensitive, and the following characters are prohibited: \ / : " < > | |
Path
The full file path or system environment variable searched.
Subdirectories
Indicates whether Path subdirectories are searched.
Size (KB)
The maximum size allowed for collected files, in KB, that Configuration Manager 2007 collects from a client during a software inventory cycle. The value is determined by Maximum size (KB) in the Collected File Properties Dialog Box dialog box.
Exclude
Indicates whether to collect encrypted and compressed files are excluded from collection. You can change this value in the Collected File Properties Dialog Box dialog box.

Configuration Manager 2007 collects files as large as 20 MB. However, large files adversely affect inventory collection performance, particularly when they are collected from many clients in a site. |
