Configuration baselines in Configuration Manager 2007 contain configuration items with associated configuration baseline rules. If you no longer require a configuration item to be included in a configuration baseline, remove it from the configuration baseline rules.

Note
Removing a configuration item from a configuration baseline will not delete the configuration item itself.

To remove a configuration item from a configuration baseline

  1. In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to System Center Configuration Manager / Site Database / Computer Management / Desired Configuration Management / Configuration Baselines.

  2. Right-click the configuration baseline that contains the configuration item you want to remove, and click Properties.

  3. In the Rules tab, navigate to the rule that contains the configuration item you want to remove and select the configuration item.

  4. Click Delete and then click OK.
