After installing or upgrading the mobile device client on mobile devices, the administrator should verify that the installation or upgrade process completed successfully. Client installation or upgrade can be verified in the following ways:
- Reviewing collections
- Using the mobile device
- Reviewing mobile device client installation

Verification by All Mobile Devices Collection
After the mobile device client is successfully installed, it will poll the device management point. After the mobile device has polled the device management point, it will appear in the collections of the site database.
Procedure

In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to System Center Configuration Manager / Site Database / Computer Management / Collections.

Select All Windows Mobile Devices. The results pane displays the Windows mobile devices collected by the device management point.

Verification on the Mobile Device
After the mobile device client is successfully installed, the Device Management icon will appear on the mobile device. The location of the Device Management icon depends upon the platform and configuration of the mobile device.
Procedure for Windows Smartphone Mobile Devices
Verify mobile device client installation on Windows Smartphones and Windows Mobile 6 Standard mobile devices using the following steps:

On the mobile device, click Start. Search the list of programs on the mobile device to find the Device Management program. If Device Management is not visible in the list of programs, click More.

Open Device Management. Advertised Programs are displayed.

Click Info. Connection Information is displayed.

Verify that the Connection Information is appropriate for your mobile device client.
- For all mobile device client deployments,
verify that Last Refreshed information displays the date and
time of a recent poll.
- For updates, verify that Client
Version displays the updated client.
- For upgraded security mode, verify that
Security Mode displays the new security mode.

On the mobile device, click Start and navigate Settings. The settings pane opens.

In the settings pane, click the System tab.

Open Device Management. Advertised Programs are displayed.

Click Info. Connection Information is displayed.

Verify that the Connection Information is appropriate for your mobile device client:
- For all mobile device client deployments,
verify that Last Refreshed information displays the date and
time of a recent poll.
- For updates, verify that Client
Version displays the updated client.

Log Files for Mobile Device Client Installation
As mobile device client installation progresses on the mobile device, log files are generated on the mobile device. The log files can be used to confirm that the installation was completed. After successfully completing client installation, the following log files can be found on the mobile device:
- DMInstaller[date:time].log
- DMClientSetup[date:time].log
- DMSvc[date:time].log
