Configuration items in Configuration Manager 2007 can be secured so that only designated administrators can manage them with assigned permissions.

To configure security permissions on configuration items

  1. In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to System Center Configuration Manager / Site Database / Computer Management / Desired Configuration Management / Configuration Items.

  2. Right-click the configuration item that you want to configure for security permissions, click Properties, and then click the Security tab.

  3. On the Security tab, configure the security permissions you require, and then click OK.
