When you enable software inventory for a site, use this tab to specify the file types to inventory and how to report the inventory in Resource Explorer.
- File types
- File information you specify to inventory on clients in the site.
- Add Button
- Click to open the inventoried file properties dialog box so that you can add a new entry to the File types list.
- Properties Button
- Click to open the inventoried file properties dialog box so that you can modify an entry in the File types list.
- Delete Button
- Click to delete the selected file type.
- Name
- The file types that are inventoried on clients. By default, *.exe is listed.
- Path
- The client hard disk search location, set to either all client hard disks, a single variable, or a path name. By default, All client hard disks is listed.
- Subdirectories
- Specifies whether subdirectories under Path are searched. By default, Yes is listed.
- Exclude
- Specifies whether encrypted and compressed files are excluded from being inventoried.
- Reporting detail
- Specifies the level of inventory file information that you want reported in Resource Explorer. For Configuration Manager 2007 to report information about inventoried files, you must select at least one check box.
- File details
- Displays all scanned files, including unknown files, in Resource Explorer under File Details. By default, this check box is selected.
- Product details
- Resource Explorer lists software products only when manufacturer information is present. By default, this check box is selected.
