Use the General tab in the Configuration Manager 2007 Query Rule Properties dialog box to specify a query-based membership rule for one or more collections.

The General tab contains the following elements:

Name

Specifies the name of the membership rule up to 50 characters. This field is required.
Import Query Statement

Click to open the Browse Query dialog box, which enables you to select an existing query.
Resource class

Specifies the standard class of resource in which to search for the results of the query. The following options are available:
  • System Resource

  • User Group Resource

  • User Resource

Edit Query Statement

Click to open the Query Statement Properties dialog box, which enables you to modify the selected query expression.
Collection limiting

Specifies whether the query will be limited to the resources of a given collection and, if so, to which collection.The following options are available:
  • Not collection limited: Specifies that the membership rule is not limited to a particular collection. By default, this option is selected.

    Note
    If you do not have security rights to read all collections, you cannot select this option.
  • Limit to collection: Specifies a collection to which the membership rule will be limited.

    To specify a collection, click Browse, select a collection, and then click OK.

OK

Saves the changes and exits the dialog box.
Cancel

Exits the dialog box without saving any changes.
Help

Opens the help topic for this tab of the dialog box.
