If you are using a network load balanced (NLB) cluster in Configuration Manager 2007 for a management point that supports Internet-based client management, the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of the NLB cluster must be registered on Internet Domain Name System (DNS) servers. Then configure the NLB management point in Configuration Manager 2007 with the same Internet FQDN.
To configure the Internet FQDN of an Internet-based NLB management point:
-
In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to System Center Configuration Manager / Site Database / Site Management / <site code> - <site name> / Site Settings / Component Configuration.
-
Right-click Management Point Component, and then select Properties.
-
On the General tab, select Network Load Balancing cluster virtual server.
-
Click FQDN, and then enter the registered Internet fully qualified domain name (FQDN) in the text box Public DNS.
-
Click OK.
