You might need to import configuration data in Configuration Manager 2007 for the following reasons:
- You want to compare the configuration of your
computers with best practice configurations from a Microsoft System
Center Configuration Manager 2007 Configuration Pack.
- Separate teams in your organization have
created their own configuration baseline or configuration item for
the computer roles or applications they own.
- You have created configuration data on a test
network and need to move it over to your production network.
- You have exported configuration data as a
backup precaution and want to restore it on the same Configuration
Manager 2007 site.
