Use the Attributes tab of the Configuration Manager 2007 File or Folder Properties dialog box to configure if and how file or folder attributes will be included in the validation for the object's compliance.

Note
When a child configuration item inherits a file or folder object from a parent configuration item, any specified attributes will be read only.

This tab contains the following elements:

Choose the attributes to be verified on this file or folder object.

You can specify which file or folder attributes to assess for compliance by choosing one of the following options for each attribute.
  • On To be assessed as compliant, the selected attribute must be set on the file or folder.

  • Off To be assessed as compliant, the selected attribute must not be set on the file or folder.

  • Do not verify The selected attribute will not be assessed for compliance.

The following file or folder attributes can be assessed for compliance:
  • Archive

  • Compressed

  • Encrypted

  • Hidden

  • Read Only

  • System

Severity

Specifies the severity value if validation fails on client computers. This severity level will be displayed in conjunction with the non-compliance status. Available severity levels:
  • Information - no Windows event messages: Client computers that are out of compliance with this validation will record a severity status of None in conjunction with their non-compliance status.

  • Information: Client computers that are out of compliance with this validation will record a severity level of Informational in conjunction with their non-compliance status.

  • Warning: Client computers that are out of compliance with this validation will record a severity level of Warning in conjunction with their non-compliance status.

  • Error: Client computers that are out of compliance with this validation will record a severity level of Error in conjunction with their non-compliance status.

OK

Saves the changes and exits the dialog box.
Cancel

Exits the dialog box without saving any changes.
Help

Opens the help topic for this tab of the dialog box.
