Within Configuration Manager 2007, programs contain the applications, tools, or commands being delivered to clients. While packages provide a wrapper for the software, dictating how the software will be passed between site servers and distribution points, programs provide a wrapper for the software, telling the clients themselves how the application should interface and run on those computers.
