To modify an update list after creating it in the Update List Wizard, you must go to the update list's properties. The update list name, description, and security can be modified. To add or remove software updates from an update list, see the corresponding task at the end of this section. Use the following procedure to modify the properties for an update list.

To modify an update list properties

  1. In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to System Center Configuration Manager / Site Database / Computer Management / Software Updates / Update Lists.

  2. In the Update Lists pane, right-click the desired update list and then click Properties.

  3. The following properties can be modified:

    • Name: Specifies the name for the update list. The name must be unique and should help to describe the software updates contained in the update list.

    • Description: Specifies the description for the update list. The description should provide an overview of what software updates are contained in the update list and information that helps to identify it among others in the Update Lists node of the Configuration Manager console.

    • Security rights: Specifies the class and instance rights for the update list.
