Use the Specify Attribute Name dialog box in Configuration Manager 2007 to specify the name of a custom Active Directory object attribute that you want to discover. This dialog box is displayed when you click the New icon on the Active Directory attribute tab of either the Active Directory System Discovery or the Active Directory User Discovery method.

The Specify Attribute Name dialog box contains the following elements:

Attribute name

Specifies the name of the Active Directory object attribute that you want to discover. This can be the name of a custom Active Directory attribute that is specific to your enterprise.The following attribute types are supported for Active Directory discovery:
  • ADSTYPE_DN_STRING

  • ADSTYPE_CASE_EXACT_STRING

  • ADSTYPE_CASE_IGNORE_STRING

  • ADSTYPE_PRINTABLE_STRING

  • ADSTYPE_NUMERIC_STRING

  • ADSTYPE_BOOLEAN

  • ADSTYPE_INTEGER

  • ADSTYPE_UTC_TIME

  • ADSTYPE_LARGE_INTEGER

  • ADSTYPE_DN_WITH_STRING

OK

Saves the changes and exits the dialog box.
Cancel

Exits the dialog box without saving any changes.
Help

Opens the help topic for the dialog box.
