There are eight Application Compatibility Toolkit Connector (ACT Connector) reports, each with available report input parameters that retrieve data used to accomplish a variety of objectives. This section describes each of the ACT Connector reports.

Windows Upgrade Assessment

  • Application Compatibility Toolkit application status for computers in a specific collection

    This report displays applications on computers in this collection and their Application Compatibility Toolkit (ACT) application status for the specified operating system. Optionally, you can filter by a specific application and the ACT application status. This report is useful to determine which applications are compatible prior to deploying an operating system.

  • Application Compatibility Toolkit application status summary for a specific collection

    This report displays Application Compatibility Toolkit application status summary for this collection and operating system. This report is useful to determine which applications are compatible prior to deploying a specific operating system.

  • Application Compatibility Toolkit application status for a specific computer

    This report displays the Application Compatibility Toolkit application status for applications installed on this computer for the specified operating system. This report is useful to determine which applications are compatible prior to deploying an operating system. This report displays Application Compatibility Toolkit application status summary for this collection and operating system.

  • System requirements status for computers in a specific collection

    This report shows the operating system, memory, hard drive free space, and process speed for computers in the collection, and determines whether they meet the specific system requirements status. If you select the status of Meets minimum system requirements or Meets recommended system requirements, the status column is not displayed because they are all compatible. This report is useful to determine which meet or do not meet the minimum or recommended system requirements for this operating system.

    Note
    Systems which fail the operating system status for in-place upgrades can still pass for clean installation through an operating system deployment.
  • Device driver availability for a specific computer

    This report displays the devices found on this computer and indicates whether the device driver is available in the driver catalog, or whether a solution is available online.

  • Device driver availability for computers in a specific collection

    This report displays the device found on computers in this collection and indicates whether the device driver is in the driver catalog, or whether a solution is available online.

  • Device driver summary for a specific collection

    This report displays a summary for devices found on computer in this collection and indicates whether the device driver is in the Driver Catalog, or whether it is available for download from Microsoft Update, Dynamic Update, or a non-Microsoft source. Optionally, you can specify a specific device status. This report displays the device found on computers in this collection and indicates whether the device driver is in the driver catalog, or whether a solution is available online.

  • Windows upgrade summary for computers in a specific collection

    This report displays computers in this collection and indicates their status for system requirements, device driver availability, and ACT application status. This report is helpful to determine which computers have compatible hardware, device drivers, and applications prior to deploying a Windows operating system.

Note
For computers that do not pass the operating system check, you can still install Windows 7, Windows Vista, or Windows XP; however, you must perform a full operating system installation.
