A computer association organizes the migration of user state and settings from a source computer to a destination computer. The source computer is an existing computer that is managed by Configuration Manager 2007, which contains the user state and settings that will be migrated. These settings are migrated to a specified destination computer.
The Computer Association node displays a list of the computer associations that have been created, the actions that can be run, and, when a computer association is selected in the Computer Association results pane, specific actions that can be run for that computer association are displayed.
The computer associations that have been created are displayed in a list in the Computer Association results pane. The Source Computer column is used for the default sort order. The following columns are displayed by default:
- Source Computer: The name of the
source computer that contains the state that is being migrated to a
destination computer.
- Source MAC: The MAC address of the
network adapter installed in the source computer.
- Destination Computer: The name of the
computer that the migrated settings will be applied to.
- Destination MAC: The MAC address of
the network adapter installed in the destination computer.
- Migration Type: The migration type
used to store the user state. The migration types are
Side-by-side, and In-place.
You can also add the following two columns using Add/Remove columns.
- Source User: The name of the user
profile associated with the source computer that is being migrated
to a destination computer. The user profile reported is the most
recent user account to access the computer when the last hardware
inventory was run. This information is intended to help identify
the computer, but does not affect the migration process.
- Destination User: The name of the user
profile on the destination computer that migrated settings will be
applied to. This is the same as the Source User profile.
You can filter the computer associations that are displayed in the Computer Association results pane using the four filter actions located above the list.
