The Certificates node displays the Boot Media, PXE, and ISV Proxy certificates that are used in the Configuration Manager 2007 site.

This node contains the following sub-nodes:

Boot Media

Selecting the Boot Media node displays a list of public key infrastructure (PKI) certificates that have been imported and self-signed certificates that have been created. The certificates that have been added to boot media are displayed in a list in the Boot Media results pane. The following columns are displayed by default:

  • Issued to: Displays the subject name associated with the selected certificate.

  • Start Date: Displays the date and time the certificate is valid and will function with the Configuration Manager 2007 site.

  • Expiration Date: Displays the date and time the certificate will expire and will not have access to the Configuration Manager 2007 site resources.

  • Status: Displays if the certificate is blocked from accessing Configuration Manager 2007 site resources.

Boot Media UI Element List

Look For

Enter all or part of a certificate name, or use the drop-down list to select from existing filter criteria.
In

Select the column to use when applying the filter criteria.
Find Now

Click Find Now to run the filter.
Clear

Click Clear to remove the filter and display the entire list.

When a specific Boot Media certificate is selected in the Boot Media pane, you can select the following default actions grouped under Boot Media in the Actions pane. You can collapse the default actions by clicking the up arrow in the Boot Media section header.

View

Select this action to add or remove columns in the certificates pane, to export the list of certificates to a tab-delimited or comma-delimited text or unicode text file, and to hide the search bar in the certificates results pane.

Select this action to display a new Configuration Manager 2007 Administrator Console window rooted at the selected node in the console tree.
Open

Displays the properties of the selected certificate. The General tab displays the computer that the certificate has been issued to and what certification authority issued the certificate. The certificate validity date range is also displayed. Click Install Certificate to open the Certificate Import wizard. Use this wizard to copy certificates, certificate trust lists and certificate revocation lists from your hard disk to a certificate store.The Details tab displays the current list of X.509 fields or extensions associated with the selected certificate. Select the field or extension you want to review and the associated information is displayed. Use the drop down to filter the list by category.The Certification Path tab displays the certification path for the selected certificate. The status of the selected certificate is also displayed in the Certificate status window.
Block

Select this option to block the selected certificate from access to the Configuration Manager 2007 site. You can unblock a blocked certificate by selecting the blocked certificate and clicking Unblock in the Actions pane. Refresh

Select this action to refresh the Configuration Manager 2007 Administrator Console display.

PXE

Selecting the PXE node displays a list of public key infrastructure (PKI) certificates that have been imported and self-signed certificates that have been created for use on Configuration Manager 2007 PXE service points. The certificates that have been imported or created are displayed in a list in the Certificates results pane. The following columns are displayed by default:

  • Issued To: Displays the subject name associated with the selected certificate.

  • PXE Server Name: Displays the name of the PXE service point server that the certificate is assigned to.

  • Expiration Date: Displays the date and time the certificate will expire and will not have access to the Configuration Manager 2007 site resources.

  • Status: Displays if the certificate is blocked from accessing Configuration Manager 2007 site resources.

ISV Proxy

Selecting the ISV Proxy node displays a list of public key infrastructure (PKI) certificates that have been imported and self-signed certificates that have been created for use with an ISV Proxy. The ISV Proxy certificate and the related Configuration Manager 2007 infrastructure allow an ISV to develop solutions for client platforms that are not directly supported by Configuration Manager 2007. Detailed information regarding the ISV Proxy certificate and its use in client communications can be found in the System Center Configuration Manager 2007 Software Development Kit (SDK). The following columns are displayed by default:

  • Issued To: Displays the subject name associated with the selected certificate.

  • Start Date: Displays the date and time the certificate is valid and will be allowed access to the Configuration Manager 2007 site.

  • Expiration Date: Displays the date and time the certificate will expire and will not have access to the Configuration Manager 2007 site resources.

  • Status: Displays if the certificate is blocked from accessing Configuration Manager 2007 site resources.

  • Cert GUID: Displays the GUID that is associated with the selected certificate.

ISV Proxy Node UI Element List

Register or Renew ISV Proxy

Opens the ISV Proxy Certificate Registration Or Renewal dialog box. You can register a new certificate ISV Proxy or renew an existing certificate for an ISV Proxy.
