The Configuration Manager 2007 System Health Validator point resides on the computer running Network Policy Server. To install this component for a site, Configuration Manager needs installation permissions.

When the Network Policy Server is in the same Active Directory forest as the Configuration Manager 2007 site server, or a trust exists between the two server domains, the computer account of the site server is used for installation without further configuration. However, when the Network Policy Server is not in the same Active Directory forest as the site server, or the domain in which the Network Policy Server resides does not trust the site server's domain (for example, through a forest trust or external trust), you must specify an installation account that can be used on the Network Policy Server computer.

This installation account requires administrative rights to install the System Health Validator point and to configure the System Health Validator component.

How you configure the System Health Validator point installation account depends on whether you need to define the Network Policy Server as a site system server, or whether you are adding the System Health Validator role to an existing site system server.

Note
The installation account will be used by all the selected site system roles on the server for both installation and configuration of that component.
