When you initiate a remote control session on a client computer running Windows XP or later, the Configuration Manager Remote Control window appears. You can use this window to view and perform work on the client computer.

When the Configuration Manager Remote Control Window is active, all mouse actions and keystrokes on the computer running the Configuration Manager console are passed to the selected client computer, except for the following key sequences:

In addition, the start key and the application key on the Configuration Manager console computer (if present) do not pass output to the client computer remote control session.

Note
It is not possible to send a CTRL+ALT+DELETE command from the Configuration Manager Remote Control window to the client computer being remotely administered. If you need to do this, you should connect to the client computer using Remote Desktop.

While a client computer is being controlled, the client computer's keyboard and mouse remain active. Both the administrator using the Remote Control tool and the user at the client see all keystrokes entered from either keyboard. It is possible for both the Configuration Manager 2007 administrator and the user at the client computer to both enter commands simultaneously which could result in an incorrect command being entered. It is therefore important for the Configuration Manager 2007 administrator to communicate with the user at the client computer before the remote control session takes place.

If you view the selected client computer display in a sized window, or if the client computer has a higher resolution video display, the Configuration Manager Remote Control window may not be able to display the client computer's entire desktop. To move the display within the Configuration Manager Remote Control window, use the window's scroll bars. You can also use the Full Screen and Scale to Fit commands from the View menu of the Configuration Manager Remote Tools window to adjust the screen resolution to fit the administrator's screen.
