A predefined package is available in Configuration Manager 2007 to remove the mobile device client installer files from Configuration Manager 2007 managed computer desktop computers.

Procedure

Remove the mobile device client via computer clients that synchronize with mobile devices using the following steps.

To remove the mobile device client via computer clients that synchronize with mobile devices

  1. Create a new folder to contain the files needed to remove the mobile device installation files.

  2. Into the new folder, copy the following files in the client transfer folder located at <InstallationFolder> \ DeviceClientDeployment \ ClientTransfer:

    • DMClientXfer.exe

    • DMCommonInstaller.exe

    • DMCommonInstaller.ini

  3. In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to System Center Configuration Manager / Site Database / Computer Management / Software Distribution / Packages.

  4. Right-click Packages, select New, and then click Package from Definition. The Create Package from Definition Wizard opens. Click Next.

  5. On the Package Definition page, select Remove Device Management Client Transfer. Click Next.

  6. Specify how source files should be managed. Click Next.

  7. Specify the new folder containing the source files.

  8. Complete the Create Package from Definition Wizard, and then click Finish.

  9. Distribute the client removal package to Configuration Manager 2007 client computers that synchronize with mobile devices.
