You might need to export configuration data from Configuration Manager 2007 for the following reasons:
- You have created configuration data on a test
network and need to move it to your production network.
- You want an independent backup of the site's
configuration baselines and configuration items that you have
created in case you ever need to restore them on the same
Configuration Manager 2007 site.
- You have created configuration baselines or
configuration items you want to share with the Microsoft
community.

---|
Export configuration data from the site in which it was created. You cannot export configuration data that has been imported or inherited from a parent site. |
