Configuration baselines in Configuration Manager 2007 contain configuration items with associated configuration baseline rules. You can add a configuration item to a configuration baseline by modifying the configuration baseline rules.

To add a configuration item to a configuration baseline

  1. In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to System Center Configuration Manager / Site Database / Computer Management / Desired Configuration Management / Configuration Baselines.

  2. Right-click the configuration baseline to which you want to add a configuration item, and click Properties.

  3. Click the Rules tab, and click the rule you want to associate with the configuration item you are adding to the baseline.

  4. In the Add Required Configuration Items dialog box, select the configuration item to add and click OK.

  5. Click OK to save the changes in the configuration baseline properties.
