By default, inventory reports from clients assigned to mixed mode sites are signed, but not encrypted. For further security of inventory report processing in Configuration Manager 2007 sites configured to operate in mixed mode, you can enable encryption of inventory reports sent by clients.

To encrypt client inventory reports

In the Configuration Manager console navigate to System Center Configuration Manager / Site Database / Site Management / <site code> - <site name>.

Right click <site code> - <site name> and click Properties.

Click the Site Mode tab.

In the Client settings box, enable the Encrypt data before sending to Management Point check box.
