Use the Configuration Manager 2007 R3 Add Resources to Collection dialog box to search for and add resources to the selected collection.

The information in this topic applies only to Configuration Manager 2007 R3.

The Add Resources to Collection dialog box contains the following items:

Name contains

Specifies the string used to search for resources in the specified collection. You can specify multiple strings to search for by separating each string with a comma. You can also use the following wildcards to search for resources.

Wildcard Description

%

Any string of zero or more characters.

_(underscore)

Any single character.

[]

Any single character within the range or set (for example [a-f] or [abcdef]).

[^]

Any single character not within the specified range (for example [^a-f] or [^abcdef]).

Resource type

From the drop-down list, select one of the following resource types to search for:
  • System Resource

  • Unknown Computer

  • User Group Resource

  • User Resource

Search in collection

Specifies the name of the collection to use to search for resources to add to the selected collection. You can use the drop-down list to select a recently used collection or click Browse to open the Browse Collection dialog box to select a collection.
Advanced

Displays the following additional search options:
  • Attribute name: From the drop-down list, select an attribute name from the computers inventory that will be used to search for resources to add to the selected collection.

  • Value: Specify the value for the attribute that will be used to search for resources to add to the selected collection.

Search

Begins the search by using the specified search parameters.
Search results

Displays the results of the search.
Add

Adds the selected resource from the Search results list to the Selected resources list.
Remove

Removes the selected resource from the Selected resources list.
OK

Adds the resources in the Selected resources list to the selected collection and closes the dialog box.
Cancel

Exits the dialog box without saving any changes.
Help

Opens the Help topic for this dialog box.
