Using the Software Families node located under the Customize Catalog Configuration Manager console node, administrators can delete custom software families used to group software title information stored in the Asset Intelligence catalog.

The information in this topic applies only to Configuration Manager 2007 SP1 and later.

Use the following procedure to delete custom, user-defined Asset Intelligence catalog software families.

To delete a custom software family

  1. In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to System Center Configuration Manager / Site Database (<site code> - <site name>) / Computer Management / Asset Intelligence / Customize Catalog / Software Families.

  2. Right-click the custom software family name, and click Delete.

    Note
    If the Configuration Manager console action pane is displayed, the custom software family can also be deleted by clicking the custom software family name and then clicking Delete in the action pane.
  3. To delete the custom software family, click Yes in the Confirm Object Delete dialog box.
