Use the Reporting Point page in the Configuration Manager 2007 New Site Role Wizard and New Site System Server Wizard to create and configure a reporting point, and use the General tab in the ConfigMgr reporting point Properties dialog box to modify the reporting point properties.
The Reporting Point page and General tab contain the following elements:
- Report folder
- Specifies the name of the folder created on this site system. You can enter up to 256 characters. Configuration Manager creates the folder under \Inetpub\wwwroot beneath the site server root. The name of the folder is also used as the name of the virtual folder, as displayed in Internet Information Services (IIS). The following characters are not allowed: / \ [ ] : ; | = , + " * ? < >
- URL
- Displays the reporting point URL determined by the Report folder setting. This URL is used to access Configuration Manager reports.
- Transfer protocol
- Specifies whether the Configuration Manager console opens the
Report Viewer Web page using hypertext transfer protocol (http) or
secure hypertext transfer protocol (https), and what port number is
used. This setting does not configure IIS, which must be configured
independently. The following options are available:
- Use http: Specifies that http is used
when opening the Configuration Manager Report Viewer. When this
option is selected, Use https is not available. The http
port number must be specified in the Port text box. The
default http port is 80.
- Use https: Specifies that https (SSL)
is used when opening the Configuration Manager Report Viewer. When
this option is selected, Use http is not available. The
https port number must be specified in the Port text box.
The default https port is 443.
- Use http: Specifies that http is used
when opening the Configuration Manager Report Viewer. When this
option is selected, Use https is not available. The http
port number must be specified in the Port text box. The
default http port is 80.
