Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 provides you with six configurable methods of discovery to search your network for resources. Each of these methods provides you with a different view of your network and will result in a different set of discovered resources.
All of these methods are configurable, but they are disabled upon site installation (with the exception of Heartbeat Discovery) and must be enabled prior to use. All use the same procedures for enabling the method.
